The Mat Set

The mat. 33 × 33 inches (about 84 × 84 cm), and 3 mm thick.

The surface. A dense polyester fiber body finished with a smooth jersey top, chosen for how cleanly tiles glide and shuffle across it.

The back. Natural rubber with a non-slip grip, so the mat stays exactly where you put it, even through a long night of pushing tiles around.

The case. A navy velvet storage case that pulls closed at the sides, maching the dice pouch that comes with The Grove Collection Tile Set.

Cleaning. Spot clean with a soft cloth and a small amount of mild soap in cool water. Blot rather than scrub, and let the mat air dry completely before rolling it up.

Please avoid. Do not machine wash, bleach, iron, or dry clean. Do not soak the mat or put it in a dryer, as heat can damage the rubber backing. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners on the surface.

Storing. Roll the mat rather than folding it, with the smooth front surface facing outward - this will allow it to slide in its case much easier. Store it in its navy velvet case. Keep it somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Make sure it is completely dry before rolling, so nothing gets trapped inside.

Good to expect. Rolled storage may leave a soft curl the first time or two you lay it out. This will settle and shake out over time.

Small variation is normal. These are made to my specifications rather than pulled off a shelf, and slight differences in surface texture or tone from mat to mat are a normal part of production.

Colors on your screen. Screens vary, so the exact tones of the mat and the navy of the case may sit a little differently in person.

Tiles sold separately. The Mat Set does not include tiles. It is designed to pair with The Grove Collection Tile Set, and works with any standard mahjong set.
